My name is Mary Essence and  I am Haitian African American women, native of Chicago, and currently resides in Madison, Wisconsin with my husband.  I have always been a person to help others in their time of need, including proudly wears many hats as a Certified Human Resource Professional and Coach, Serial Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, Motivational speaker, Podcast Host, Voiceover Artist, Former Model and Brand Ambassador, and Writer.

As a child, I would remember seeing my peers attempted their chances at fame and singing their hearts, so they can find a way out of the "Hood" instead of inspiring to be a lawyer or doctor. What people do not seem to understand about entertainment industry is how short or long live a entertainment career can be, if manage appropriately and providing tools to be successful. Unfortunately, minorities tend to get the short end of the stick because they aren't fully supported and become an easy target to fall victim to the bad side of entertainment industry with the life of drug abuse, suffering from mental issues, and reverting back from riches to rags in a quickness.

Growing up as a black women in Chicago is not a easy thing to do and living in Madison, Wisconsin was definitely takes it to a whole another level., which made it significantly harder for women of color to thrive and dealing with subtle racism, micro-aggression, and heavy influences in politics for a small town. Madison is the new Mississippi of the North. Despite these challenges came a blessing in disguise regarding my strength in creating Poppins Productions, LLC and its brand portfolios. I am able to create several companies to help minorities impacted who are looking to be in the entertainment and business industries.

My businesses brought a sense of inspiration in creating something to provide a platform for entertainers, individuals from all walks life, and black owned business owners to be heard, educated, inspired, build confidence, guide others to reach their full potential with their personal and professional lives. During the course of my career, I've been able to work for both nonprofit and for-profit organizations including spending majority of my life giving back through volunteer and monetary donations back to the black and brown communities.  I am proud to have an opportunity to use my own personal experiences, knowledge, and education to bring these things to the table.
